Hi All,
First off, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Steve, and my father has a 2005 (I believe) Sea Doo Challenger 215. Anyways, he winterized the boat according to the shop manual procedures, and we went to take the boat out for the first time this Summer. The boat started up great no problem, and just maybe 2 minutes after pulling away from the dock, the engine stalled and would not restart. Here is what we have done so far and discovered:
We think it is a fuel issue with the motor not getting fuel. With starting fluid sprayed in the top of the fuel rails the motor runs, but only until the starting fluid burns up. We thought maybe the fuel pump was our issue, so we removed the hose from the fuel rails and when putting the key on the boat, the fuel pump pumps a bit of gas out of the house, so I don't think the fuel pump is out issue. So, it seems like for whatever reason the gas isnt getting from the fuel rails to the motor possibly? The only thing I can think of is if he re-assembled the fuel rail or the injectors improperly and that is causing the issue? Sorry for the long post, but I appreciate everybody's help in advance and hope you all can help me out. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!! I would first start by checking and replacing all the fuel lines one could be clogged or has a hole in it from dry rot. Then i would clean the carbs (IF CARBURATED). My guess is that either you injectors (IF FUEL INJECTED) are plugged or your carbs are plugged(IF CARBURATED) Replace the lines to eliminated the possibility of a fuel delivery problem.

thanks for the reply brock! There arent any clogs or holes in the fuel lines, as we tested to make sure fuel was being pumped out of the delivery hose and it was. I also agree that the injectors are probably clogged, or maybe the fuel rail somehow? Is there anyway to tell if the injectors or clogged without buying new ones to see if the problem is fixed?

as far as i know all you can do is remove the injectors and physically look for a clog. I deal mostly with carburated engines so ill try to get a injector guy to help us

okay thanks. We looked at the injectors but didnt see anything obvious as far as clogging or dirt goes, but who knows. Any other ideas anybody?
