Hi, everyone!

I found this great site when researching and looking for an Islandia, which I have been wanting ever since seeing one in a parking lot near my town and wondering what it was. This year my wife wanted to get a boat after we found our long term house on the lake, and I suggested the Islandia. After almost buying a Caravelle Interceptor that slipped through my fingers, I found an '01 Islandia and bought it. I'm so glad it worked out the way it did! I grew up living on a lake, and I have been driving solo on family boats since I was 12 (and Waverunners since I was 8), which means almost 25 years. We always had I/O's growing up, so getting used to driving this jet is a little bit of an adjustment. However, I am learning that the same techniques my father taught me still apply, slow and steady when docking and coasting in neutral is always good. Now that I have driven it a few hours, it does seem to have some control advantages over the I/O's...though a little crosswind when docking can be a bit tedious with no lower unit to drag in the water.

Anyway, thanks for all the info I found when looking to purchase my boat. I went through like 27 pages of posts on the SeaDoo Boat Mercury Powered forum, and I learned a ton. I'm sure I will be here often for help, tips, and advice.

Thanks!
