Hi,
We have a 2007 Seadoo Challenger, We just got it 10 months ago and we have only taken it out this summer, Not long at all.
Last week, As we were headed out of the marina, we were going slow as we were told to do. (we are new to boating:) The boat was running fine. As soon as we got out a bit and went to make it go faster, (like in a car, going from 1st gear to second) instead of the boat going faster it just sort of sat in one spot and revved up. Like it couldn't go into the second gear. Lots of rumbling and noise as we sat and tried to get it to go. Our friend checked to see if we sucked up anything and we didnt'. He checked the motor and it seemed fine. Where we purchased the boat doesnt' fix seadoo's. We can have a seadoo place check it but the fee to have them even look at it is 298.00. Wow. I would like to try and fix it ourselves, well my husband can try. Can anyone tell me where to start? Or are there guys who work on the side to fix seadoo"s thanks so much

Sounds like something stuck in the impeller or a wear ring issue. Just because you dont see anything haning out doesnt mean there isnt something. Look up under it into the intake grate. Or just pull the pump off, only takes 15 minutes and there are tons of threads on here if you search.

Take it from a pro in this exact area. There is absolutely something in the impeller. Get a flashlight and look into the grate while up on the trailer. I have had a rope, a stick and last week a rubber kids shoe stuck in there. Pull it out and you should be fine. Good Luck!!!!

Thanks for the replys, My husband did try and get in there, take the pump off and the grate but the screws were all stripped down so he wasn't able to. So now its at the marina being checked by them which I was trying to avoid because of the cost. Hopefully it won't be too much
