Hi All,

I recently purchased a 1999 Seadoo challenger 1800 with twin 110hp rotax engines from a friend. Last time I was on the boat it ran fine. When I got it from him it had been winterized by the dealer in his home town. I towed it home not realizing that I have no idea what it takes to get it ready for spring and there are no dealers or service places near me. My friend has gone overseas so I can't ask him at the moment. I know the wear rings were replaced last year and whatever fluid changes that needed to be done were done then. What do I need to do to get this ready for the water? Can I do these things myself? Will I have to be on the lookout for hose clamps or anything? Do I need to do an oil change of any sort? Sorry for all the questions I am completely new to jet boats. Some people have said to just fill it with gas and oil and let her rip, but I want to make sure. Also, is there a way to safely run the engines out of the water with hoses? Thanks so much for your time, Dan.

IT really depends on what all they did when they winterized it. I do all my maintenance when i winterize. In the spring, all i do is charge the battery and take it out. That really should be all you have to do. IF you aren't sure though and want to be thorough, you can change the jet pump oil and throw some new spark plugs in.

Thanks for the quick reply. I feel stupid asking this, but how do you change the jet pump oil? Thanks. Great looking boat by the way, where did you get your mats?
