Hello all, purchased a 2000 Challanger with the 240EFI. Paid almost nothing for it, and so far it has turned out to be a great run about. Have done lots of reading up on this and other forums. So far i have done some basic upgrades and tune up stuff (Got rid of hyro-surge, new head temp sensors, etc..) The previous owner had a Major (about $1500 worth) tune up at last summer and only ran it once or twice. So far we have run two very uneventful tanks of gas through it. Runs strong, planes quick, runs an easy 50ish at WOT and pleasently surprised at its stability on our WINDY/CHOPY texas lakes!

My only question is this, when running down the lake, it almost always takes a signficant amount of right steering ranging from 8-10 degrees off center to 20 or 30 depending on speed and cross wind. Loading does not seem to effect it that much. Is this normal? The previous owner said that it always did this. I am comming from large bore outboards so torque steer I get, but a full day of towing/playing is really going to get my shoulders in shape. Thanks for any input!

I have the same problem, boat wants to turn left, I constantly have to counter steer to the right. Glad to read some one else has the same problem, meaning that this not really a problem and must be how all these boats behave. Another thing I dislike about my boat is the auto throttle! The steering is connected to the throttle and when ever you reaching the steering limit to the right or left the motor will rev up. Found this very dangerous because unless you are careful any one standing will fall due to the acceleration. I plan on disabling this system.
