so i purchased my boat a month ago brought it on the water and to my dismay the speedometer wasn't working say as with everyone i jumped onto google which lead to to this forum, and enticed me to purchase the candoopro (gps speedometer) but after installing it my gauge still doesn't want to work.... any tips?

1998 seadoo challenger 1800 twin rotax 787's

Have you checked the wire at the back end of the boat? Is the roller spinning?

I don't have a ton of experience as I am new to the Challenger as well but I read somewhere that can be an issue.

hi k3rok i bought a gps unit which plugs into where the speed senor originally plugged into so that eliminated that, it can only really be the wires or the gauge at this point

update checked the voltage at the guage and its 11.6v which seams to be fine, removed the gauge and opened it up, resoldered the connections (altough they looked fine) still not working....... anybody/somebody!!!! please help!!!!!

Mine has never worked reliably, and I don't really care. My speed is governed by what is comfortable and prudent in the current conditions. Knowing the actual speed doesn't help me navigate safely or have any more fun.
