neutral safety switch interchangablilty P/N

my 95 speedster needs a new neutral switch. Found the original P/N as 278000685. Not finding this switch anywhere. Plus nobody is showing replacement P/N

They are selling switches on E-bay as 278000888 saying this will fit... BUT looking at these switches, there are two types, one the wire comes out the side of the switch, the other straight out the bottom. Size seem different, but that might just be the photo... I believe mine has the wires coming straight out the bottom. so the question is: is the 685 unique or will a latter model switch fit this boat.

When I replaced my shifter, the new one came with a 2 function (2 switches). It would have worked but I just used my old one.

Stem length/width, mount screw location & normally close or open are the deciding factors.

Ok It looks like this switch is unique to this boat. Does anybody have a recommendation on where to get one or a solution to this problem... for want of a nail the war was lost. .

How about a photo of what you need -
Your oem switch should be the same as mine unless someone jerry-rigged something.

Since I don't have a metric ruler I thought a 32nd scale would work

Total length of switch from the top of the button to end of mounting bracket = 2'' 10/32
Total length of switch from the button to the center of the mounting hole = 2'' 3/32
W = 30/32
D = 15/32
shaft length no button = 31/32 with button = 1'' 3/32
shaft diameter = 10/32

connector PIN width = 18/32

So, does anybody have this specific neutral switch rat holed someplace. Or know where where I can get one. The original P/N 278000685 does not cross to 278000888. Or so the research I did indicates. Sure could use it. Or if somebody know for sure the ...888 will work let me know. Don't want to spend $60 if it will not fit.

For those looking at this information in the future. I talked to a sea doo sport boat dealer, Main Channel Marina and they were able to give me the superseded part number for 278000685. That one is 295500291. (The only place I found that had that number. Not on the on-line part catalogs. ) Unfortunately that one is also obsolete. However, I was able to find one on e-bay. If you have one of these 1995 boats, don't go with the "other" part numbers other that these two because they will not work.

By chance was that Main Channel in Syracuse? I stopped at their fuel dock this morning.
