Looking to add to my colection and looking on some info Pros/cons about the 1995 Speedster..Can anyone pass on there experiences with the unit. IE towing/Tubing capabilities..

Thanks,

Compared to single engine boat...?

Pops boarders up faster than 1 motor, quicker acceleration, BUT...twice the things to replace/fix...

No problems at all if cavitation issues are ironed out. I have some cavitation issues and I can pull a 3 person tube around with little trouble.

I've got a 96 speedster... basically the same boat. Top end of around 52mph, pulls me skiing & wakeboarding no problem. Pros: fun, fast, light, pretty easy to maintain, 1250lbs easy to tow, easy to trailer. Cons: no trim, small wakes (hard to get good air), 650lb capacity which is 3-4 adults. Other than that, I love the crap outta mine!! Hope that helps!

Thanks

Thanks for all the much needed info..i did notice that they do not come with factory Stereo, is this correct and also last ?..the twin ROTAX ENG anythinf i should know about them..

Once again Thanks alot to all

top...seen them install on left side of driver, them speakers on both sides up toward front, seen mounted under the driver pit, but no room, and big bounce, yuor knees will feel it...the motor, take a compression gauge and check the readings, 150psi is perfect. See if oil injection is still hooked, if not, you'll need to premix, ask to see bottle of oil for the resivoirs, dont wanna mix minerals/synthetics, if at all, take to the lake....good luck

13 years still going strong

Any older boat is going to require some maintenance, if you are wrench-shy I'd skip it. You will need to pay attention to maintenance items but nothing requiring major disassembly. If an engine wears out, replacements are about $ 700 and fairly easy to install if you have decent tools. Impellers and other hardware wear out, and cables etc sometimes need fiddling. But its way simpler than the later 4-TEC boats which are very complex.

Fuel consumption is OK at low cruise but horrible at full throttle like 10 gallons per hour.

Use only Sea Doo oil of the correct type. get a shop manual from this site premium member section. Make sure your engines are OK.

did compression Test

Timmyboy,

Compression test done twice 2 seperate readings of 120psi/125psi..not sure if that is good or bad..any thoughts...The unit fired up smooth both twins and
pre and post inspections done for the three years he owned, meaning winterized and pre-summer tune..

Thanks,
