Hi fellow seadoo lovers, my name's Matt. I am trading in my 2004 seadoo sportster le towards a new vehicle. It is in above average condition. The dealer wants to take it to someone for an inspection, of course I will be with him when this happens. Not sure I should let them hook it up to a hose as it has been winterized properly. What should I let them do? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks for your time.

You trading it in for another boat or towards a car?? Problem with trading it in is even if you do let them hook it up to a hose and start it up they will low ball you to the point it wouldn't be worth the time!! Try to sell it privately, would be your best option.

Hey Thor, yeah I am trading in along with my older durango, owed money on both, need down payment. I already told them what I would accept for both as a package. They accepted it pending "an inspection",lol I know I could get more for it in the private market. I have all service records for it as well. If they try and go back on that amount, which is already drawn up and ready to go with my bank, then I already told them my bank will stop payment and I will go to next dealer who has agreed to do the same thing. I definitely am not gonna get totally screwed thats for sure!!

I slept on it and am taking the boat out of the equation after finding out what I could actually sell it for. Almost got jipped, screw the dealer, they p////d me off to the point I wont even buy my car there now,lol Thanks for advice!!

Figured they would offer you less then that...if you sold it privately you could probably get between $5-6K

Yeah thats what I figured, i was thinkin 6k. Its in good shape and runs like a champ. Also, the wole deal was pending a full inspection of boat from someone i dont know or trust; not sure if it was gonna b at a seadoo dealer either so i just took the boat out of equation and in morning am telling them now what i want or i walkj, i never signed anything yet so im not legally bound and no money has exchanged hands.
