Hey guys-just bought a 2005 speedster 200 370HP which looked immaculant, couldnt get to water to test but heard the engines run with a hose goin thru.

Well took her out for maiden voyage and couldnt get above 10mph? Port revs fine and pushes somewhat but Starbord shakes the whole boat above 2.5K rpm? :ack:

I checked the intake-nothing in it, took her home and started it up and now I can hear a rattle as well as severe vibration on the Starbord side.

How bad did I get taken on this anchor? any suggestions? I'm very mechanically inclined and will probably tear into it after I research it extensively.

What should I check out 1st-besides a good lawyer-Thx in advance!

It is realy hard to say It may only be a few hundred dollars if you do the work your self. but then again it could allso be a couple thousands.

Welcome to the seadoo forum renomaan. I don't think a lawyer will help...most used item like this are buyer beware. If your mechanically inclined you could diagnose you own problem and get it working properly again. Do you have a seadoo shop manual? If not here’s an idea for you. You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and private use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Premium members get priority when it comes to getting quick detailed answers.

If you want to tackle this beast respond back and we'll get you started in the right direction with some basic checks to figure what is need to be repaired.

Problem solved!

After dropping the grate and checking closer , there was a hardwood knot stuck on one of the props fins. Took about an hour to drill holes thru it and made a long sharp edged chisel to split it, finally got it all out.

The bad thing is it was covered with melted wear ring! so I probably need to dig into both sides this fall, getting up on plane takes about 100ft at 5kRPM which is good for fall fun.

No tellin if I stuck the wood or the guy who sold it-maybe thats why he was sellin? Anyways 1st issue of boat ownership solved.

BTW-if I sign up premium, I will probably download everything I need within the 1st month of dues-can I cancel after that and return to nonpremium menbership?

Thx-Great site to know about !
