it seemed to rev quite high in the water but it would not get up on the plane. Didnt note the rev counters. I had joined the wires of the nuetral switch under the gear lever as I had all the beeps but it would not turn over. As soon as i joined the wires they both fired up. Put boat in water but no real power. Replaced the micro switch and it was up to full power. Perfect. Evidently this switch controls a rev limiter. hope this is of some help to some one

can any one help. I have a 97 twin engine speedster. Engines run fine although one needs half throttle to start. Idle speed is good and full power is great. No cavitation. But when ive been for a blast, and entering a marina or at low speed both engines rev up for a second or two or even longer on there own. Boat takes off which is dangerous. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Both carbs have all new gasket etc. changed but it did not rectify the problem. Cheers

I split your posts out of the other thread. Please do not ask questions in someone else's thread. It makes it very hard to help anyone.

As far as the other comments... this is a free site. To start your own post, just click the button that says "Start new thread."

To your comments:

Yes... the neutral safety switch controls a rev-limiter in the boat. In neutral or reverse, the engines will only go to 3500 rpm.

Your other issue is fuel related. You could have an air leak in the fuel system... or the carbs may just need cleaned.
