Heres the story:
Bought the 1800 98 sportster about a month ago, test drive was good.
The boat had sat for a while(few years), but it was run numerous time's during the summer(so I was told).
2 weeks ago, I took it out for a few hours, after a few hours the passenger side motor quit on me & didnt want to start.
I did compression test came out with 150 & 90.
I swapped plugs with some spares while on the water, So i dont have any good plugs to read off of.

Put in some new plugs. And took it out yesterday, same deal.
After about an hour passenger motor didnt want to start back up.
I was getting ready to tear it down, assuming it needed a top end rebuild. But decided to check compression again first, Each cylinder came out to 150 psi.

What do you guys think?

Update:

Pulled off upper plate, while doing so (3) of the aluminum bolts sheared off, those are going to be fun to get out of there. Anybody have recommendations?

I see water on the drivers side of the motor, none on the passenger side.
Is that right?

Im not sure exactly what to inspect?

so the pass motor turns over.... has good compression and spark too I assume? so have you looked into the fuel system?

that rear plug looks like aluminum eposits on it !!!
this could mean that the piston is coming apart
the front plug looks kinda ok, rear one tho is trouble
good luck with the easy out, if the bolt broke while coming out,
it is siezed in the head, easy out might not work
they only work if the bolt broke while tightening.
if you got any portion of the bolt sticking out, try to grab with vise grips
apply some heat to the bolt hole base to get the metal to expand
then try to work it out.
if this fails, grind bolt flush to surface, center punch it and drill out
the bolt, use a heli coil repair at this point, google it.
I HATE BROKEN BOLTS.
good luck
