I'm having a problem with my '95 XP. After starting the engine, my rpms keep climbing until I shut it down. Any suggestions of how to correct the problem?
What's the position of the throttle? At idle on land, you should run about 3k rpm.
If your throttle plate is stuck wide open, then you'll have to take it apart and clean the bushing.
The throttle position and cables are all free and working. I put the ski in the water and it operated fine. When I hooked it up to flush it after being in the salt water, it worked fine. So I don't know what the problem was, but I no longer have the problem. Thanks anyway.

Its just a thought stud...but i'd take a day and go thru the entire boat, checki'n carbs, leaks anywhere...etc, only because, you might be at a bad spot in the ocean, and WHAM, there you/and boat goes fly'n....just a thought
