need help swapping 98 Xp engine into 01 Sportster Le

hey guys, this is my first time posting so I hope this is the right area. But I bought an 01 Sportser Le with a blown engine. So I took the running engine out of my XP and put it into the boat thinking that it should be compatible... I may have been wrong. The engine turns over, but will not fire, Im pretty sure its not getting spark, but I figured you guys might be able to tell me if there is a difference in ignition systems between the two or something. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance
