Need help sportster 1800 1999

Hi there i am from italy and i have a lot of fun with my sportster. Unfortunatelly i have 2 problems and i tryed look many times but i cant understand what 's wrong.
Can you help me understand how to repair it?
The oil/fuel gauge do not work at all and i don't know why.
The left tachometer gauge also do not work at all.

I'm not sure what you can do here. When these boats get older, lots of times, the connections need to be trimmed and reassembled.

Try this. Disconnect the connection at your fuel tank. Then, get a short piece of wire, stripped on each end. Put that wire into the connection, to jumper between the two wires going to the gage. Then, either push the start/stop button or put the lanyard cap on. When the power is supplied, look at the fuel gage. If it went to "full"....then the sending unit needs to be serviced. If it's still at empty, then the gage is bad.

it's a new boat

Thanks to helping me,
the boat is old from 1999 but if yo see it it looks really new i have it from many years now and i treat it like a baby.
The wires are quite good looking, anyway i'll try your counsil , and for the tachometer?
