hi helpers

i have a brand new 2012 never been in the water stock karavan trailer for a 230 challenger.

i ordered a different trailer so have no need for this one.

could you give me a hint for what price i should advertice this trailer?

thanks, patrick

The thing is.......

1) Regardless of how much it was used... it's still used. So, you can't expect new prices.

2) it's an unusual thing to sell. (very new, and for a specific boat)

Honestly... it's only worth what someone will pay for it... and how long you are willing to sit on it. You could ask $2k... but it could take a year to sell it.

Over the years... one thing I've noticed is that by the time a trailer needs replaced... so does the boat. So... searching for a replacement trailer is very low on the list of most owners.

With that all said... is there a large trailer shop local to you, who may take it on consignment?

thanks - the trailer is at dealer in VA now - he wants 800$ consignment what i can not understand.

yes, i will let it go for the first "normal" offer - i think this ttrailer is $ 4750 new and it is new - so i would try to get round 50% so $ 2000.

thanks for your help - very helpfull input!

Since you are out of the country... do you come to the states very often?

$800 is nutz for the consignment fee... unless he thinks he can get $4k for the trailer. I would expect it to be more like... $100 +10% of the sale. So even at $4k... it would still only be $500.

How about this... contact a boat shop, that sells new boats. If the trailer is basically new... that shop may be able to sell it with a new boat easier that a trailer shop alone.
