Need help choosing a Boat Cover Please .

I recently put up a post about storing with a cover or without a cover.

I decided I probably need to go ahead and find one.

I would like a black one, that I could trailer on occasion, and the cheapest I found for this price is
the Safeguard 16ft-18ft. black premium cover.

Since my speedster is only 16'5" long, I would like to know if I will have a lot of extra cover
sagging around the speedster.

My next option is from iboats for a semi custom black cover for around $180.0

The next would be the OEM Sea Doo Speedster cover for around $200.00, but it
the only cover is BLUE, and although it would fit good, it would really not correspond to
my boats.

I really would be satisfied with the cheap one if it would provide sufficient protection, being under a shed
and I could occasionally trailer my boat with it on.

Basically would like to know what others are using.

Attached are the cheap boat cover, and then the iboat semi-custom boat cover , I can't find the OEM Blue cover on the web, I imagine because it is older.

Once again thank you for your input, this Forum has turned out to be a valuable resource guide for
Seadoo enthusiast.

Plus one for Poppys. Mine fits like the boat is shrink wrapped. The problem with a cheap generic cover is it will beat the boat to death when you are towing it. There is a big difference between a storage cover and a trailering cover, if you are going to be towing with the cover on make sure it is a tight fit, and is MADE for trailering.

Seadoo Jetboat Cover

Hey Aaron, your cover looks great!

tresvatos1,
You can get a cheaper cover but if you do, be prepared to buy another one soon. In order to trailer a boat cover, it needs to be a model specific fit, with seems, cleat reinforcements, access zippers, all in the right spot. If it doesn't have the vacu-hold system and be fitted, it will flap in the wind, mar you boat and wear itself out. If it doesn't have a pooling pole system, it will pool water and leak and the weather will make it a piece of junk quick.

You can email me if you have any questions and I can tell you differences in fabrics and covers. terri@poppycompany.com

Yea i was impressed with it too. it has a racket strap along the bottem to tighten it up once you have it on, plus velcor opening to put gas in it with the cover on.

Best cover Ive ever ahd, far superior to Bombardier covers. My only complaint is, they are grey, how boring.

I had one of those generic covers too and they not that good for towing. they will flop around nd get loose. they also take a while to put on with all those straps. so I got tired of it and ordered Poppy cover, fits like a glove and takes no time to put on. I just checked the boat the other day, its been stored since nov. and looks as tight as the day I put it on. no complaints with it at all.

I received my cover from J & M today. I had purchased a cover from them in the past for my Challenger 2000 and it fit like a glove. The one for my Utopia 205 just didnt fit.

I got on the phone to speak with Terri at Poppy. She is one dedicated passionate women. She spent 30 minutes discussing why my J & M cover would not fit. I was so impressed with how much attention she gave me that I ordered the cover from her and will return the J & M. I havent experienced her level of customer service in more than 20 years!!! I'm on board with Poppy covers!!!!!! Terri we love you!

Gald to hear it. I think Customer Services has went out the window for big profits, but most people don't get it. The better your experience with them the more likely ou'll come back and spend more money. Taken the boat out yet Craig?

This weekend

TVZ,

I hope to get out Sunday for its maiden voyage. I have the boat registered and applied the numbers. I hope to spend saturday afternoon buffing it out and Sunday take it to an area lake. Temps are supposed to reach 70f!!!

Update on my cover scenario.

My boat was at the dealer for three weeks so it wasnt until Saturday before I could try the Poppy cover on my Utopia 205.

Well, to make a long story short the cover just doesnt fit right. I spent some time discussing this with terry, sharing photos with her etc.....In the end we concluded that there is something unique about my boat. Terri offered everything within her power including an offer to make custom modifications to the cover to accomodate my boat. I decided I would return the cover and make one last ditch attempt by trying the OEM Seadoo cover. if that doesnt work then I'm gonna have to go universal.

No matter, I highly recommend Terri from Poppy covers to anyone looking for a great cover and better customer service!!
