Hi all, I recently purchased a 2005 Sea Doo Challenger 180.....I'm trying to buy a bimini top and cannot find the measurements anywhere. Does anyone out there know what they are?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the info....I thought you'd be able to look up the type of boat and there would be the bimini top!!! Had no idea I had to go measure it myself!!! LOL

Steve,

Are you going aftermarket for the bimini or buying right from Seadoo?

In the past I once had a Rinker and had a guy custom make one. It cost a little more than say Overtons, it was perfect and he took all the measurements and did the installation...It was perfect!

Call some local marinas for leads on people who do this kind of work.

We probably won't buy direct from Sea Doo. Right now West Marine has 30% off biminis...so we'll probably get it from there. Trying to save $$ anyway we can!!

Steve,

You have the 2005 so I assume yours wont mount to a windshield. Like Timmy mentioned, measure the width between mounting points on your boat. Also consider how much longitudinal coverage you want and how tall you want it. Measure twice, order once :-)

You want a top that is around 80-83 inches wide. It’s not super critical on the width because the aluminum frame of the top will flex. You will want mounts for the side, and not the top. I got my top for about $120 from eBay. The only thing I’m going to change on mine is the rear stays. I’m going to get a rigid kit so I don’t have to worry about taking it of while trailering it. Look at my picture to see where to mount it.

Lastly… my top is 46” tall. It’s a good height to be able to walk under it... but I know other people like the look of a lower top. I’ve seen this kind of boat with 35” tall top… and it looked good… but you almost had to crawl under it to get to the seats. (just an FYI)
