Again thanks everyone for taking the time to help others out. I bought a 96 seadoo challenger. Its very clean. Love this little boat. I dont have loads of money so this was just right for me. It has a hiccup tho. We took it out on the water and it ran great for about 20 minutes or so, kicked up to about 7k rpm. Then we came to a no wake zone and I idled it down after we got past the no wake zone I went and throttled it up and it had no power tacking around 4k rpm 10-15 mph. So I left it full throttle and after 5-10 minutes it all of the sudden starting picking up speed and was tacking about 7k rpm again running great. Then after I idled it down again the same thing about 4k rpm and 10-15 mph. After leaving it again full throttle for 5-10 minutes it all of the sudden starts to pick up speed again 7k rpm and running great. Can any of you knowledgeable guys help a fellow new seadooer? Im a little lost.

Don't know exactly what's wrong.... but DO NOT hold the throttle up, if the engine doesn't also follow. most of the time, it's a fuel issue, and you can roast the engine.

I would start with cleaning the carbs, and the RAVE valves.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but i have a dumb question for you guys... is standard carb cleaner ok to spray into the carbs (while still installed on engine)? I was always told to be weary of things you spray in/on the carb of a 2-stroke engine.

Carb cleaner was never meant to be sprayed into a carb, while on the engine. (EVER)

It's to clean the internal passages, and the bore... while disassembled on a workbench.
