HI, I am Runem, I have just invested in a RXT-X 2008. I need to install navigationlights and the best GPS vs. value for money. Any suggestions of the best and most goodlooking? Would be happy for any advice regarding mounting and all.

How do I lock the PWC the best way?

Thank you guys in advance.

Runem
Ps. I hope i am in the right tread for this...

Locking...........

Locking a PWC.........I hope your talking about while it is up on a dock!...You are not suppose to leave a PWC in the water over night.

If someone wants to still the craft, they will. Even if it means using a pair of bolt cutters. YOur best defense is a night surviance camera. I have one that works with wi-fi and shoots visible image for 75 feet and will deliver my signal 300 feet away. You can find them at newegg.com.

That way, you can at least have video of someone not suppose to be there,, caught on film and hopefully, a tag number.........

Your not suppose to leave a PWC in the water over night? Why is that? Im headed out of town to my parents lake house next week and was planning on leaving it tied to there dock for about 5 days.

Skis dont have bilge pump to throw any water out. Boats have that so they can be in water all the time as long as the battery is good and bilge pump can pump any water out. there is always a way for water to get in.

as for GPS I have he same ski and I have a garmin 76 series gps in OEM seadoo holder. holder is about $50 and gps is somewhere around $200 or more.

as for locking my ski is parked in garage so I have little wories there. but still I use coupler lock just like the one in pic. This kit is good for the trailer thats still on the truck so it doesnt get stolen while your riding.

also good item to have is this trailr wheel lock. looks kinda like the boo police uses. sells for $70 at overtons.com and top lock is $25

and check this out, trailer alarm. haha...cool thing with this is you can disconect trailer lights without getting out of the truck. nice

But even with wheel lock and coupler lock 4-5 guys can actually lift you ski on your trailer onto theirs. so, using some chains in combination with above might keep it much more safer. I would use some of those chains with coating or sumtin to protect the finish.

someone just posted this for PWC nav lights. can you ride the ski in sweeded after sunset? I know here in VA and probably all US waters you cant ride the ski after sunset. I got a damn ticket for that couple months ago.

i don't think i'd even want to ride at night if could... too much crap to run into...

maybe not run it on purpouse but I got stuck with my brothers boat that woulnt start and was late comming back into the park. not that I wanted to stay out there at night but if there was an emergency like that I could see it being usefull.

No skis in water.......

The post above is correct. The ski is prone to sinking with water coming through thes shaft seal...............

In Sweden you can ride the PWC at night but you then have to have Navigationlight legally. See the summer here is light at night. You have quit good visibility until 10 pm.

just put a bildge pump in and BAM problem solved..... I left my sportster witch is really just a big pwc in for a week when i was on vacation it didnt leak one drop. as for locking it up i would use all the ideas people have given you like hitch and tounge locks ect... Somethings you could also do

-weld the bolts that attatch the tounge to the trailer, weld the ball on the hitch aswell.
-put HIGH strength lock tight on the bolts for the front bow eye.
-use a chain with HIGH tesile strength one the bolt cutters would cut. like these chains http://www.kryptonitelock.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?cid=1000&scid=1002&pid=1169 then lock the ski to the trailer or a light pole, to a dock or anywhere secure where youll be leaving it. Be creative and the more things you do to prevent it getting stolen, the crooks will be more likley to move to an easyer one...

AND if you have i little extra money to burn install a gps trackin device in the ski and if it does get ripped of you''ll find more then the just ski...
