I've owned this boat for about 4 years now. Grandparents gave it to me, but they "lost" the paper work that had all the good details on it. I know its a Seadoo Sportster for it says it along the side. But I am curious to know what all the great details are. It's a 1997 I do believe. Just wondering things like Max speed, horse power, empty weight, the good stuff an owner should know.... If anyone could point me in the right direction, or if you need more info on it. its the blue and white sportster with a Bombadier Rotax engine. Single jet drive with the bucket seats in the back, open bow with the sunseat upfront.

congrats on the boat....its a 717/720 85hp, unladen weight of 1350ish, low/mid 40's-mph. Fun boat, had a few of those...

thankyouuu

hahaha thanks a lot for that
this sounds dumb, but what does the 717 and 720 stand for? just model numbers? or something else? I've noticed it used in other forums but just curious.

Its the engine size. 720, 800, 951 are some of the 2 stroke engine sizes.

Still trying to learn the new 4 stroke engine sizes.

Miles to the gallon

Ok, just curious here. My boating friends and I are curious as to what the distance is I could travel with this little sportster of mine. I dock in Vermilion OH and they want me to take this thing up to kellys island with them in the next few weeks. I am just wondering if the gas tank holds enough to even make it there. I believe the tank is either a 14 or a 15 gallon, but my question is what kind of distance can I actually get going at full power on a very nice day?
