Well i made the trip to TX this past weekend to look at the Speedster. It wasnt quite as clean as the pics made it look and it has some minor issues, but nothing that was a deal breaker. So i got a slightly better deal on it and had the uship guy tow it back. 2 days later and here it is.

Some of the stuff it needs.

totally buffed out. Looks like it has taken a beaten from being uncovered most its life in the TX sun. Im not sure how someone can spend this kind of money on a boat and let it sit out in the sun. His alleged $250 detail job before the pics must have been a total rip off.

Decals need replaced. I planned on replacing the side Sea Doo logos with the same thing I put on the 98. The other decals on the boat look rough and need replaced too. Trying to decide on spending $400 or have Tony (Dr Honda) make something up for me. Ill post pics of those later in the thread and get some opinions.

Neither tach works....trying to figure out who makes them. i know i saw it in a thread who makes them and a user here said the company will rebuild them very cheap.

The tray covering the engines is MIA.....This one made me the most angry...Dude never mentioned that. Im thinking he is just a moron and doesnt know anything about the boat. He only owned it 2 years. Im, trying to locate a used one. If anyone has any leads let me know. Looks like i can still pick it up new for like $250.

Other than that stuff it just needs some other little stuff taken care of. The hoses to the exhaust fan are just laying in the engine compartment. Few chips in the gel need fixed. Mechanically it seems very sound. I couldnt pass it up for 10 grand. A little TLC, lots of $$$$ and lots of my time and you wont recognize it again in a few months.

Here is just a quick pic with the first mod. Poppy cover was put on and made it the 1400 miles without a problem. I already have a pile of boxes in the garage for the audio system and im ordering the HT right now.

Griz im glad you brought that up. Im open to names for the boat. The kiddos are doing great and growing fast. Seems like the time flies. Bella is 16 months now and thinks she is 16...lol.

that thing looks great man. i might be getting ready to make the plunge on an islandia project myself. are you still going to do a lake norris ride this year? if so let me know, i'd love to actually get up there this year.

Im sure ill be at Norris sometime. I think either the weekend of june 1st or the following weekend.

Just ordered the dark gray diamond cut HT. I wish they offered the molded diamond for this boat...makes me wonder why its only for some boats. I really liked that pattern on the 98.

ohhhhhh Islandia? Where'd you find one of those at? They're pretty hard to find.

Griz: Thanks for pulling up that thread. Kids are a pain in the butt... but, they put a smile on my face. (as long as they aren't yelling and screaming)

Rfoster: Nice !!! Do you have any pictures with the cover off?? Is your weather any better than ours, up in PA? I looked out this morning, and there was a coating of snow. This winter just won't let go. I think last year, we were already into the 60's.

As far as a name... no idea. (sorry) But... if I think of anything... I'll post.

Purple: YES !!!.... go find an Islandia. I did mine last year... and it's a great family boat !!!

130, if you can find that link or info, please share. I have a buddy that needs to fix his speedo and the only one he
can find is $300+ !

One just popped up here locally. He's asking a little more than I think it's worth for the condition it's in, but I'm still haggling with him. I'm not afraid of it and I can do all the work it needs, he doesn't need to know that tho.

How the interior looking? I had to replace my sunpad ... it was sunbaked. Seriously though man awesome call on this boat!! I would be so pumped to get that at $10K, and on a traler!!!! (valued at $2000 easy) Lets just take a look ... supposed you had to buy the tachs at BRP (dealership) and replace all decals (again at dealership), theres probably about $800 in tachs and I don't quote me but say $1500 to replace all decals say another $200 on buffing and waxing supplies and say $500 on the other odds and ends your missing. Your $13000 into it at stock form and in nice looking condition ... I just saw a blue 200 speedster (04 I think) 310HP w/tower on trailer move for well over $20K i think it was aroudn 23000-24000 couple weeks ago!

Tony, Ill post up some pics tomorrow if its not as cold as they are predicting. This weather is nuts...i usually like winter and snow but im so over it this year. They are predicting accumulating snow again sun.

Brian..the interior was all redone in july of last year...Still a little faded though since its been left uncovered and baked. Still good enough for now though. I made my first BRP order today. Got the storage tray that goes in the engine compartment and most of the decals. Got it all for just under $500. Not too bad really. For the large sea doo decals on the side i am using the same ones i had on the 98. I like them better than the plain lettering. There is also a long red decal above the rub rail that goes down each side. They are 100 each....im thinking of having something custom made instead. I have already ordered the dark grey hydroturf. The pile of boxes for the audio system are adding up in the garage. I can buff it out to look new for under $100. I have the boat all planned out...just a bigger version of the 98 really. Just gonna take me about 60+ hours of work to get it all done.

I really wish i could find the thread on here about rebuilding the gauges. ill spend some time searching again.

Rich that's sweet when I buy toys I always highball my numbers .. The family will love the hull stability and higher walls in the 200 the wifey will feel a lot more comfortable when u need to get back to the launch in a storm. All around awesome boat not trying to high jack yah here bud but your daughters are going to love the 200 now and when they want to get into waterproofs.

Here are some more pics. The inside is filthy and the decals look faded but seats are all good. Did a good look over it today and its not as bad as i thought. Will look brand new by june.

VERY NICE !!!

But... it's amazing how Hydro Turf transforms that big white floor. (what color did you order?)

I wish I could get mine uncoverd... but we are dealing with a winter than just wont' let go. It should be in the 50's~60's right now... but they are calling for 6" of wet snow tonight!!! (augh !)

Just figured I would let everyone know. I did confirm Faria does make most gauges on a BRP products including most PWC and boats. If you ship them the gauges. They will repair them and send back with a 3 year warranty. The prices are very reasonable. The tachs are costing me like $40 each. Here is a list of repair options and prices.

For the hydroturf I went with the dark gray cut diamond. Got everyhing ordered and mostly in for the audio system. Got new decals and some other OEM parts ordered. Now i just need warm weather and about 50 hours to work on it and it will almost look like a bigger version of the 98 i had.

Yup some quality time with a pressure washer and your HT installed, and you will see a new boat there! Good work. Keep us updated. These are fun to watch.

Exciting to see your next build, Rich. If you need anything, just let us know.
