I have just brought my first jetski a 2001 xp (951 carb) and i must say i am enjoying going out on it but having been out a few times i have noticed a few things that i cant explain the first being that there seems to be no mid range power it is, all or nothing i was not sure to start with if it was meant to be like that, my girlfriend dosent like it because it 60 mph or 20mph and it makes towing a ringo a hell ride for whoever is on it !. The second thing is the throttle cable it was stuck on full throttle when i went to flush it out at home so i got my had down and moved it, that solved it then last time i got back again went to flush it out it done the same. Thanks for your help Mike

I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like a cable problem, not allowing the carb to return back to idle or is sticking wide open. It might be the bushings on the throttle lever(butterfly) that need cleaning or replacing.
