My Key is Stuck

Hi there,
I have a 2001 seadoo GTI and the key on the this barely comes off. I have to really wiggle the thing to get it off. I'm afraid that if I were to fall off, the thing would keep me roped on!!! Any suggestions for loosening the fit?
