MPEM swap? has anyone had luck swapping MPEM (challenger 1997)

Are there any other models of ski that you could take the MPEM out of and swap into a challenger 1997? A lot used the 787 engine from what I can tell so what is keeping you from taking an MPEM off of another boat with the same engine? Would the engine know any different as long as it was getting the same info on spark advance, timing, etc? Would someone with BUDS be able to program those things to tune the engine even though it is in a different boat? Could you swap another 787 engine/MPEM combo into a challenger?

You can run a ski MPEM but it probably requires rewiring some stuff. I remember someone used to make a conversion harness back in the day.
