anyone know if an MPEM can be rebuilt?
If so who does it and where? I thought i remebered reading on here that there was someone on here who could do it?

a buddy of mine just picked up a 96 XP (and we think the Mpem might be the culprit.)

(we picked it up cheapenough with another ski on a double trialer for 800)
So i am not worried abotu losing we can sell the trialer EMPTY for more than that.

anyway if anyone has one or knows who rebuilds them let me know!!

thanks in advance

5 amp fuse...?

The fix available is in the event your 5 amp fuse is popping. The culprit is a faulty diode. The diode is a step down to 5 vdc and when it goes bad, the voltage goes up and pops the fuse.

I've been trying to work on this and have a mpem from a forum member but work (we're in shutdown), kids, and a lack of free time have kept me from working on it much.

Any pics of what you speaking about?
If all it is popping out a diode and soldering in a new one... thats sounds easy!
(if you have the right gun for the job!)

the problem, is get'n to the darn thing. If you dont know where its located on the circuit board, you'll need to remove "ALL" the potting, then figure which diode...:(

diode?....

Look right next to the 5 amp fuse. Through the potting, you may see the imprint of the diode. A small round circle about 3/8" in diameter.....
