Motor swap??

is it possible to make a motor from a 1995 gts fit and work in a 2002 sportster. Kinda asking because my sportster blew its motor (951) and I have a decent motor from a 1995 gts

Technically it is possible but no good reason to spend all the time fiberglassing mounts and plumbing to put a 587 where a 951 was. Kind of like asking can I put my Pinto 4 cylinder in my Corvette.
