Motor Noise

So today on the lake, everything was going great doing about 45.

I slowed down for a second to let the wife get something from the cooler and all of a sudden the starboard engine went out. I tried to restart it but it sounded weird and would not fire up.

So, we then turn around to head back to the dock with just the port motor and all of sudden the boat wouldn't move and the motor was on and revving, and the jet was open. We then look in the engine bay and the 4" seal for the drive shaft is leaking in water and we can see the clamp busted off. GREAT. Could that cause the boat not to move?

See video below. Anyone know what it might be? This is with the spark plugs off, cause with them on it barley cranks. It's exactly the same noise it was giving me on the lake. I took the jet drive off to make sure it wasn't anything in there and it still is giving the same noise. Yes, the driveshaft is moving when I crank the motor.

Sounds like your bearing assembly seized to the shaft, tearing the boot or breaking the through hull fitting. They need grease after every daily usage.

Not sure what the sound is from your video, but the driveshaft may be binding up with whatever is broken.

If your bearing assembly is locked to the shaft, pull the pump and check it all out.

Maybe I made it sound confusing, but this is 2 separate issues.

Port motor - Boot ripped and after it did no propulsion but still starts fine and revs fine.

Starboard Motor - motor just stopped while running and is now making the noise you hear in the video. Pump was pulled before video was taken to outrule it.

At this point I'm looking at about $1200 in parts to fix the boat. New starboard motor, Jet Pump rebuild on both pumps, driveline repair kits and any misc. parts I might need in between.

I think I might cut my losses at this point and just part it out or sell it to someone willing to fix it.
