I had posted the thread in the "how to" section on the wrong oil. That thread basically said that the wrong oil was put into a 2002 RXDi and soon afterward it started running badly to the point of bogging down. I have since siphoned out the bad oil and put in the correct synthetic, changed the plugs, and it doesn't want to run. It will start right up and idle while on hose water but stalls out quickly. I can't figure what else to do on this.

I cleaned the rave valves and there was some deposits on them, pulled and cleaned the plugs, made sure the battery terminals were tight. It idled the first time but when I tried to apply throttle it bogs and after a couple of times doing that it goes from idling to lower and lower rpm by the tach until it dies.

It is fuel injected. But the injectors could be clogged I guess. Most post state that fuel has enough cleaner and the full synthetic oil will do the same. I don't know what it could be?

how much junk was on the RAVE valves? I recall reading a post where there was a tube that goes to these valves that needs to be checked due to gumming issues. it may be clogged up.

There wasn't alot. I don't know anything about the hoses. Just that there are some attached to the valves. I guess it is connected to the oil injection system and they are attached there for lubrication.

rave valves have nothing to do with your oil injection, does it just stall out all together or run rough before it shuts down? Is it sitting there up and down like searching for an idle?

The idle is constant then watching the tach it will drop off from 1450 down to 1420 then just die out. It wont search or hunt. The fule filter I havn't changed and as far as the oil pump. I don't know where that is.

Sorry I didn't read yopur question correctly. About the fuel pump, I hear it energize when I put the lanyard on.

after you try the fuel filter if it still dies, try installing w/out starting your key and you will hear the fuel pump, do this 5-10 times and see if it will run longer...
