cjb, a member of the forum has come across the "Group K" website. This website has been around for quite sometime and is dedicated primarily to aftermarket and race motors.
They have many articles along with parts for modding your engine or setting you up to become a PWC racer.
He (cjb) had put together a thread that was a copy and paste from their website's article base and archives. These articles covered everything possible about our 2 stroke engines. There was one problem, the site is dedicated to aftermarket and racing. We are dedicated to OEM specifications and just helping members fix their watercraft back to original form.
Why this was a problem? Because for the beginner or novice user, there is a lot of material that you would see as contradictory. There is many things we point out here that might or could do major damage to your engine. In reality, if you are someone who knows about boring, building and putting together a race ready PWC engine, some of these things will enhance the power of your craft.
We can not have it both ways. Because the article could have led to major confusion and a million questions from newbies, ....I have removed it from public view.
However, if anyone would like to learn about building a race ready engine or learn how to mod your engine, I would recommend you read the articles they have put together over the years at their website. I have attached the link at the bottom of my thread. When I first got started, I found this site to be very informative but also, very challenging for the beginner.
The one big thing I always ask you to remember is, our engines already turn out 7 and 8 thousand RPM's....they are already high performance engines. When you start modding these engines, expect the life expectancy to drop dramatically. Watercraft racers are usually sponsered by big business and can afford to have a new motor built every race, can you?....
