Mixing Oil Types

If you have been using Seadoo Mineral Oil in 94 and 95 Seadoo and one quart of synthetic blend was added to oil reservoir do you have to drain? Will mixing ruin something? Can I just continue using Mineral or switch to synthetic blend?

Generally its not a good idea to mix oil types. However, from my reading, oils from the same companies usually are ok to mix. Did your oil turn to gel after you added the wrong type? Probably not. And I would bet it should be fine. Now if you take oils of different blends from different companies, Id be more concerned.

For your machines miner oil is fine unless running power valves.

We lent them out for a week to a friend and he added about a quart or less to each one. The oils are not from the same company unfortunately. Did a home experiment with them in a glass and nothing happened...no separation, etc. I think I will just let them be...thanks for the info.
