Ok i'm looking at buying a 96 Challenger this weekend with a blown motor, bad steering cable, and botched seats. $550 w/trailer :)
I have done about 20hrs worth of reading on here so far and have everything in order, on where and what to buy EXCEPT the seat foam!
The seats in the boat are shot, about the only redeeming factor is the plactic pans are all there. The foam is worse off than any other I have seen on here so far. The vinyl is mostly missing, and the foam is split and largely missing. The port side arm rest for the rear seat even has some of the white styrofoam missing.

There are a ton of posts on here about recovering the vinyl, but not too much on the foam itself, other than to cut out the bad part and replace with new.

I guess what I want to know is what is needed to replace the foam completely? How thick? What density? Links are awesome if you have some. Also what styrofoam is used under the foam everywhere? There seems to be more than one thickness for everything, the arm rests look to be much thinner than the seats themselves. What can be done about the bolsters?

Sorry if I missed something somewhere, but I did try to search first!

I'll have to give him a call for sue, but for the sake of this thread, my knowledge, and future thread searchers - Is there any other information on the matter besides call Keith?

Keith actually has good info on his site on how to build the foam back up. You can get the foam in many places, like Rochford Supply. If you have 1 seat you can at least use for reference, you can get new foam and shape it yourself. Then use the covers Keith makes. If you have nothing at all to work with, maybe Keith can make you one to start wih. It's worth contacting him. He's a good guy to work with and does top notch work.

I guess I just need to get this boat first and go from there. Maybe it will all make sense when I have the seat in front of me.
I just don't want to spend more than the cost of the boat on the seats. I'm hoping to have this boat looking/running nice for around $2500.
