mercury outboard longblock in the boat?

hello
I have a broken mercury 240 EFI in my 2001 speddster. is it possible to convert an outboard engine to fit in the boat?
I would just have long blocks from the outboard and all the external parts from my old engine and boat?

The engine is mostly the same, but the splines in the drive shaft are different.

You need the special sportjet crankshaft to mate with the splines of the jetpump splines. Otherwise, yes.

have tried searching online but can not find good info.

needs to know in waht outboard engine my crankshaft fit in?

mabey looking to buy a outboard and fit my crank in it. carburetor or fuel injection does not matter. but witch modell fit against the jet?

or buy a emty block but only finds 2.4 and 3.0 liters and dont think suits against jet?

which outboard models has the 2.5 blocks that fit to my engine if I want to transfer everything from my engine?

Your "Sportjet" crank will fit into any of the 2.5L mercury outboard engines. Basically... 200 hp to 240 hp, and some of the racing engines.
