Hello everyone! About a week ago I to my utopia out for a day on the lake while pulling my son on the knee board the boat decided to blow a hole in the block. I only had the boat for about a week and it was my fourth outing after talking to all my local shops they say it's done for and will cost more than its worth to repair. The boat has the mercury m2 v6 jet drive so my question is are there any other engines that will work with the jet drive?

You have the gen1 210hp carbureted 2.5L v6 Mercury engine.

A direct replacement would need to be another 210 hp Mercury Sport Jet, or the 240 hp efi Mercury Sport Jet engines.

If you are rebuilding the engine and looking for a replacement block... then any 2.5L v6 Mercury block will work (as long as you use your Sport Jet engine crankshaft): Mercury's 150 carbed outboard, 175 efi outboard, 200 efi outboard, 210 carbed SportJet, 240 efi SportJet... all these "power heads" share the same 2.5L v6 Mercury block.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear about a fellow Utopia taking a blow like that. Wishing you luck, and staying tuned....
