Just wondering if there are things that I should always keep in the boat... such as plugs... a spare RAVE valve?? I don't know, that's why I'm asking for opinions.

Spark plugs, basic tools, zip-ties, electrical tape, a rag, and some rubber gloves. (maybe a couple hose clamps)

Anything more than that... and I'm going to do the work in garage.

Also... an extra RAVE is bordering silly. If you have a RAVE die... there's a chance that it fell into the engine, and eat itself. I guess if you want to keep a piston/bellows and a cap... that's OK. But here again, if you melt those parts... there is a bigger problem, that isn't going to get fixed on the water.

Yea, I was being silly in order to accurately project my ignorance... but didn't mean to that much... lol

I wasn't trying to make it sound like that. I was just meaning that major engine components really aren't helpful. It's going to be more "Work" than I would be willing to do while out at the water.

What's the grabber for? other than entertainment purposes?

To reach up inside the pump and grab something that might get stuck in there.

I keep a ton of tools with me all the time (my entire helm storage bin is full with rags and tools, LOL). A friend of mine, retired John Deere mechanic, makes fun of me for doing that. His father, born well over a hundred years ago taught him not to, said it wasn't worth carrying around all that extra weight.

Does your PTO have grease worms living in the splines? I think mine might.....
