What would be the procedure if you wanted to manually mix your oil and gas? I've been hearing alot of people say that they're starting to do this to reduce the risk of burning the engine up.

most people run 40 to 1 mix

so if you put 40 liters of gas in your rig drop and liter of oil

20 is .5

10 is .25

etc etc,

also add a sticker on your gas tank saying did you add oil? sounds funny but has saved me a few times

yes you will need to by a kit. I bought one from local delear $ 14. I hear once you go pre mix be prepared to start buy a lot more oil.

Is there a warning alarm if the oil injection system fails? Or how could you tell if the oil injection system has quit working?

2 ways

1)your motor seizes

2)You can do a quick and dirty check of the oil pump by starting up the engine on the hose, and while the ski is idling, reach down to the oil pump and rotate the valve 90 degrees to full on. These pumps are very very reliable, usually what happens is the oil lines crack and break. The only real way of testing it is to pull it and bench test it.

You should have a low oil light thats about it for warning

The oil pumps are dependable

And if they fail they fail wide open. Like another said, hoses, lines, filters are your worry.
If you block off you still have to keep the tank and the 2 oil lines that go to lubricate the rotary valve. Just a little oil in tank. SBT has procedure posted for installing block-off kit.

i jsut got a new engine from someone and it was already converted to premix do i have to add any kind of oil directly to the engine initially? is there oil in the crankcase for the crankshaft bearings?
