I have acquired a 1999 SeaDoo GTS. It seems to have stayed on the trailer, and under a cover, most of it's life. I've checked all hoses, drained and refilled the oil tank with SeaDoo oil, drained and refilled the fuel tank, replaced spark plugs, and lubed moving parts. It has cranked and seems to run fine. The manual doesn't refer to a pump, but I've been told that the oil needs to be changed in this also.
Is this an item for newer models, or does this actually exist on the GTS model I own? Anyone with knowledge or other helpful tips are invited to respond. I can't wait to get it in the water, but don't want to damage anything.

Welcome to the seadoo forum jwebb80. Did you use the same seadoo oil that the previous owner used? (Mineral or synthetic?) If you drained the oil injector tank and used a different oil than the previous owner than you need to be sure it is COMPLETELY changed, every drop. Make sure it doesn't have any bubbles in the injector lines. What oil are you referring to the jet impeller Pump? This is a friendly forum with lots of active members eager to help with advice. Let us know if we can answer any more questions.

Yes, your pump has oil....

if you look into the nozzle in the rear of the ski you will see a cone with 3 screws and an oil filler allen screw.

To change it.
1) take off 4 13 MMM bolts holding nozle and 10 MM bolt holding steering.

2) get something to catch the old oil in, drain pan margerine cup etc.... (dont forget the nose plugs, the oil stinks to high heaven)

3) remove the 3 8 mm bolts holding the cone on.

4) pull the cone and drain the oil out. prop the front of the trailer up as high as you can to get most of it out.

5) Inspect the rubber o ring and if it is good apply silicon and reinstall the cone. Make sure the allen fill plug is on top.

6) lower the front of the ski and add oil to the cone. when it is full, take a brake and have a drink. There is air in the cone and when you go back you will see that it is low. top it off and take another brake... do this until the fluid does not lower again. I often start the ski for a few seconds to make sure oil is all the way worked into the bearings and all the air is out.

7) wipe silicon on the set screw and screw it in (be sure not to run it all the way into the cone. just deeper than flush is fine. let it sit 24 hours to cure the silicon and put the nozzle back on.

Thanks for the help.
It was using mineral oil, so I stayed with it. I would like to transition to the synthetic, but wasn't sure if the oils were compatible. My other hobby is racing karts, we've learned the hard way about oil compatibility.
The pump oil was not shown in the user manual, but definitely will be changed now.

Here is some infoo on what oil to use in the seadoo;
Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.

Good Info Mike...to add to that, use ; Seadoo Jet Pump Synthetic Polyolester Oil 75w90 GL5.

SeaDoo brand oil was being used, I just wasn't sure how old the oil was in it. My thoughts are that the synthetic oil would be cleaner, but fear of change kept me with the mineral based.
I haven't made it back to my local dealer yet, but my plan was to buy the SeaDoo pump oil as well. No need in experimenting for such a small amount of oil.
Thanks again.
