Has anyone used a alternator belt that similar at the local autopartstore if they did what belt number did you use mine is shredded so I have nothing to by but the number I looked up ..
Thanks in advance

Ok thanks I picked one up from O'Reilly autoparts il see how it fits tomorrow they gave me a 4pk817 and said it cross referenced to that so I'm guessing it's 5mm bigger hopefully it will be ok. IL post tomorrow.

It should be the belt tensioner should take up any slack. Check the condition of your pulleys and also the condition of your alternator as something might have caused the belt to shred. If yours is a mk2 engine make sue the cover doesn't get pushed down too far so it's interfering the belt

Ok I will check when I get home that cover was pushed on pretty tight.. I still have to try and get pieces of the old belt out from under the flywheel hopefully I don't have to take that off to get them out.

Ok belt worked perfect. I checked pulleys and they all looked in good shape and don't look like cover hit belt so maybe it was jus worn and broke I don't know.. thanks for the input UK GLENN!
