I just started using my Sportster in salt water for the first time a few weeks ago. I was a bit paranoid about the salt water so, on recommendation, I picked up a can of Seadoo lube.

This might be a stupid question, but should I be spraying the entire engine compartment, or only the engine itself??? How about the electrical controls under the dash...should I lube those as well??? How about the impeller and controls on the back???

EVERYTHING. Well, I suppose the lining of the hull is overkill. And don't get it on the upholstery.

Wiring under the dash - hmmm, I hadn't thought of that, but if you are splashing about pretty good, then it could make sense. Just don't spray driectly into connectors or gauges and switches. Just a misting.

But definitely on any metal fasteners, throttle and steering linkages, bolts and nuts you can see. Shoot the driveshaft too.
