Low oil message

I just finished rebuilding my motor.. and installed it today. The old motor had siezed due to sucking in water thru the carbs. Anyways, when i started it today, i got a low oil message, but theres atleast 1/4th tank of oil if not more. Does this mean the sensor is bad.. if so where is it. or does it mean the oil pump is bad and im not getting any in? I am going to run premix for awhile anyways for the break in period.. but is there any way to test the oil pump or what does the message mean?

also, my ski revved up to 4k after a second or two of being started.. any ideas on this?

i think the low oil message is because you only have 1/4 tank of oil. it starts to remind you before you kill the motor. fill to half, see if it goes out. then fill it full.
