low gas light on

i have a 1996 gsx and when i connect the battery to the seadoo my led low gas light comes on and stays on, any ideas what might be the problem. and yes it has almost a full tank of gas. any ideas on what my problem might be.

your fuel sensor is bad, it's in the fuel tank. a quick fix so you don't have to listen to the annoying low fuel beep is to unplug the 2 wire connector(pink and pink/black) and put a jumper wire in and your tank will read full. To fix, pull the fuel baffle asm, many times it's just the float and seadoo has a new float replacement kit for like $8.

thanks for the info. any idea on how hard it is to pull the baffle assembly?

Easy job 5 hose clamps, I took my small storage cover under the handle bars off. Just remember where each hose went(I use colored zap straps). If the float has fuel in it replace, sometimes the magnets fall off or the fuse has burn't out. If fuse is burnt heres the link http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=6138&referrerid=1547
