Hi everyone! I have a noobie question for you... When towing my PWC each time I come across a bump or an imperfection on the road I hear loud noises. Is there any way to quiet them down? I would guess that putting something on top of the hitch ball (like a soft plastic or rubber) will help? Anyone has any idea? Maye this is normal but as I never towed anything in my life I don't know.

Thanks, regards...

Ok.. so that is what makes all the noise? No way avoiding that? I guess then most of teh people trailering PWC will have this issue?

Thanks timmyboy76 for your reply!

no problem...its a matter of trailer manufacturuer and what style leafs they used. You wont hear anything on the "double eye hoop" design, but with "single eye" and float rear leaf, then yeah, it'll smack around...

It takes some getting used to if you've never towed before... Could be the hitch/ball assembly, safety chain, plus the noise is now attached to the frame of your tow-vehicle, all add up for a somewhat noise-filled experience.
As long as its not a safety concern, what you are hearing is normal.
My wife always checks to see if the SeaDoo is still attached when we go over bumps, sounds bad at times.

Thanks a lot! Yeap... I guess it takes time getting used to it. On the safety side I have no concerns because I always double check that everything is attached as it should and test it before even moving. Thanks again for the detailed explanation!

I hate the sound when I first pull away!

I hate that sound when I first pull away! It just sounds loud. If I can, pending traffic, I will let the transmission start it and then ease the gas. Then it is a smooth start. Other than that, I don't have a lot of problem with any noise from it.

I know The tongue on my trailer is mildly adjustable. Ive lost a trailer because it was too loose and popped right off the ball even though it was locked down with cotter pin in properly.. but find a happy medium with it because i made mine to tight now (paranoid) and its kind of a pain sometimes to pop off the ball. The other replies with noisy leafs/eyelets/shackles/straps/chains/hooks receiver etc are all good too.cheers
