for my 98 sportster, i just screwed a male quick connect adapter into each pump, then bought one female for the garden hose part... super quick to pop off and on for flushing... my boat didn't come with any flushing adapter because I got it used.

I need to get myself a flushing kit so I can flush out once a month. I would imagine you can get one at any Cabella's, Bass Pro Shop, or any local Marine shop.

What im wondering is how good of a seal you need, the garden hose ends leak alot, not always, wondering if i can just get a male hose end with a cap and a double female to attach to the hose, is the seal realy important...?

No the seal is not that important, the water is not under any real pressure it's just the flow you need.
Also the only difference between the seadoo connector and a normal garden hose one, is that the seadoo one has a tap in it so you can turn the water off at the connector.
Dan you should flush every time you take the boat out, even if it is in fresh water the rubbish you pick up needs to be washed out(i.e. sand, mud, shells, jellyfish)
