Hey guys so got the carb out started cleaning it up and noticed the low speed screw was out 2 full turns. My manual says for the 717 it should be 1.25. Forum other posts guys told me it was running lean based on the pics of the spark arrester. So my question is should I set it to the manual specs our back where it was? Would this also cause the issue of the hard starting? I didn't want to put this on the other thread since it's a differ issue. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the link. I read the link and an now more lost than earlier.

Would the low speed screw need to be set back to where I found it, 2 full turns? that engine was already running lean according to the pics of my spark arrester. Screwing it to the manual specs would cause it to run more lean? I done want to ruin my engine. Sorry footer not understanding this but i'm need of help now. Thanks

The low screw is just to trim the fuel for idle.

I would set the carbs back to stock. Seadoo did a good job on most of the boat's and skis with Jetting.

Hard starting is normally caused by a leaky needle and seat. Basically... the engine will lightly flood, and do that. Cracking the throttle will normally help.

Thanks Doc,
I went ahead and set it back to factory @1.25. Is there anything I should watch/listen for when starting it under a load the first time? What do you mean by crack the throttle?

Since we are talking about the needle and seat, where should I get the rebuild kit from? Also, are there different N/S or just order from the same site? Which rebuild kit would I need for my engine (717)? The carb was clean and the filter was spotless today when I tore it down.
