Hi, I was on the lake today running full speed when suddenly I lost 80 to 90 percent of my thrust. After checking for something in the intake housing and limping along the engine temp alarm went off and I noticed no water pumping out the side. I pulled it up on the beach at the house and rolled it on its side and saw nothing in the intake or the thrust tube. Do jet ski impellers have a rubber hub on them like outboard props do? Can anybody suggest anything? Before I drop the jet pump assembly.

I am new to the sea doo world, So thanks for any help.

Hank

Got back into the rear housing with a flash light, and it looks like a piece of rubber has torn away from something, or i sucked up a piece of something.

Yes something is stuck in the housing....... is it something i sucked in, or is it part of the seal and wear ring? I am new to this jet pump thing I would apreciate a look at a few pics

Thanks Hank

It looks to me like I sucked the wear ring inside out. Is the wear ring the white hard bacolite material, that is broken, or the hard black plastic stuck in my impeller? I got the impeller off . To me it looks like the wear ring might be both the white plastic and the black plastic........ any thoughts?

correct it is made of 2 materials, the white part rest against the housing the black faces in towards the impeller

Thank You .....Custompartsguy and Chris for your help.......Looking up the price and availability of wear ring, and maybe new impeller.

Hank

yes, 7 years of wear will do it. not a fan of the 2 piece wear rings, they all seem to separate sooner or later like yours did. there are aftermarket ones that are 1 solid pc of delrin and they are cheaper than the OEMs and just wear down instead of getting chewed up into pcs.
