Loose vacuum line

I have acquired a 1997 Seadoo GSI and am in process of fixing all the little quirks it has and firing it up the first time. When removing the battery to charge it, I noticed a long what looks like a vacuum hose running along the whole right side and open on the rear end behind the battery. Any advice on what this does or where it goes?

It runs clear up toward the right front underneath approx oil filler. I see no line port of this type on the battery itself(?). Thanks

Sealed batteries will NOT have the vent port on them, so the vent hose can be ignored. WET batteries (the kind you buy dry and fill with acid) WILL have the vent port....so depending on what battery you use the vent hose will or will not be used accordingly.
