Hi all -

In the market for a new family boat, and someone directed us to a 2009 islandia. 100 hours on the engine and still under warranty (?) til 4/2016. now, they are asking 30k (thru a brokerage) which I assume is craziness. provided the boat checks out okay, what would you all think the true value of the boat is? any problems in particular for this boat i should be on the lookout for?

thank you so much!

I reckon if it's the twin supercharged 4-tec version (about 440 horsepower I think), and it was in tip top condition with no sun damage or signs of corrosion it could justify $25k maybe, it's probably a saltwater boat though so IMO $30k is out of line.

Is the trailer galvanized or painted? A painted trailer will rot quick, from salt exposure.

The single engine mercury sportjet models (a few years older) often bring $10k sale by owner (not a high performance twin).

Make certain there's a warranty with that, like 3 months or more hopefully. Repairs would cost a bundle if one of the engines is damaged somehow, and you might not find problems right away.
