I kept my seadoo in the water for the past couple of weeks since I was by myself at the lake and didnt want the hassle of loading and unloading the boat. I pulled it out last night and see the lovely green growth at the bottom (I wondered why my top speed was slowly going down).

Was wondering if anyone had any tips for cleaning fresh water algae off a boat. I read in some places to wait one week so that the algae dies and makes it easier to wash off and in other places saying NEVER wait long or it hardens so much it cant be cleaned. Any ideas or thoughts from our seadoo pros?

Go to any hardware or marine store (wal-mart too) and pick a bottle of either maguires or starbrite hull cleaner...any hull cleaner will do, these are the only two I have used. They both do amazing jobs and require almost no scrubbing...I would only use them on the hull though...they are pretty strong. After you have rinsed of the hull cleaner I would finish it off with a coat of boat wax!!

Hope this helps!

while ur at it you may as well change ur wear rings and such since they are going to go to he!! :) bnever leave the boat in the water overnight!

I think changing the wear ring is a little extreme....anything that decided to grow on there would get blasted off pretty quick. It not like its a simple job that takes only a few minutes!!

any tricks for mildew on the seats? i've tried basic marine cleaner that said it gets mildew, but no luck. my seats are white and its down in the grooves, but it still is clearly visible.

I am not sure if this would work....but have you tried a common bathroom clearner for mildew? Tilex Mildew maybe? I don't know if they would damage the fabric though. Try letting the clearner sit for a little while...maybe that would help!
