Looking for buy 2007 Sea doo Utopia 205 SE

This would be my first boat and I'm still going back and forth between Utopia and Challenger. But I think I've found a decent deal on 2007 Utopia 205 SE (17K). Can anyone please tell me what should I watch for when I buy Utopia.

Also, I have heard that with Challenger, Superchargers need to be rebuild around 100 hours.

You will get a better responce if this was in the 4-tec section. So... I will move it.

Anyway... both boats are good. The only real complaint I remember seeing is the the fiberglass was thin, and they were developing a lot of cracks in the gel. It's not a structure issue... it was just cosmetic. BUT... the guys buying them new (for $30k) were getting pissed about it.


Now... as far as the superchargers... yes, they need rebuilt at 100 hrs. BUT... in 2007, Seadoo was using a CRAPPY ceramic washer as a slipper clutch in them. They are known to shatter. When that happens, the parts go into the engine, and cause a lot of damage. SO... if you buy a supercharged boat... and the previous owner can't 100% tell you (and give proof) that the washers have been replaced with tool steel washers... you will want to do the rebuild immediately!! And to be honest... that can be a way of getting the price down since it's a "Known Issue".
