Looking for a Seadoo Hoist.

I would like to find a PWC hoist that could be mounted to a sea wall or deck. It needs to be able to lift a GTX off a trailer and spin around a place it in the water. There is no other way I can see to lanch a PVC at my friends camp. Any ideas?

Wow that is a bit of a challenge you got there. I am thinking an engine hoist type should work but you would need a long arm on it to get past the rocks. This would mean that it would have to be anchored or bolted down in order to keep it from tipping over.

What about putting the ski on a dolly and let it down a couple of ramps/rails with a electric winch? Do you have a 4 wheeler with I winch accessible?

I think he is planning on moving some of the rocks out of the way. What is a good brand for a hoist. I think he plans on welding it on a steel plate off the end of the deck wall. There is no 4 wheeler up there.

I'm thinking along the lines of a boom designed for loading pickup trucks, (these rotate) with an engine chain-hoist or cable winch/pulley system and the rub-rail hooks/sling. I use a forklift and rub-rail sling quite often when uncrating/displaying skis and trailer assembly.

I bet you could get a local welding shop to make a custom hoist system for you to best match your requirements, and use the rub-rail sling.

How about a beach dolly trailer and launch on that area on the left side of the photo.

In the market for a Davit myself. Be sure to check what the weight capacity is when the arm is extended out to 8' (the lift capacity typically drops dramatically with the arm extended). Let us know what you end up with.

they come up on CL all the time, i've used one twice, they're pretty handy, usually in combined with a sling, and they work just fine.
I've seen them down here on CL about once a month, can't remember but usually 4-600 range used.

like this... $600

check CL in all coastal and lakefront/riverfront downs within driving distance.
or just use searchtempest.com its great

one of these day's i'm going to buy one and find a way to mount it in the garage until I buy a house on the water !

i've seen them really cheap before, but generally with a "you remove it" condition, people just want to get rid of them

After reading the rest of this thread. I have a couple of questions.
1. Is the walk that's in the pic owned by your friend?
2.Is that where you want to install it?
If the rocks was put there by the DNR you may not be able to "re-arrange" them.

Years back (mid 90's) we used to launch over a bulkhead in my buddies alley. Basically we built a "ladder" with carpet and slid the skis down the ladder, high tide or low tide. It was probably 16' long. The at the end of the day we would go the the ramp down the street and take the skis out, no charge to remove a vessel. Being just out of High School we had to be resourceful! It kinda looked like Big Jakes dry docks in the following pics--sans winch, we used a rope and it was almost a 45 degree angle.

its so funny that you posted this.. I was logging into this thread again to post a long wooden bunk setup as a cheap option. you saved me having to find pic's from a thread I saw like 3 years ago :)

nice option !

stumbled across this pic I took a long time ago on a ski i bought, it was a single hoist (vs two davits) connected to a sling, it swung out over the water and you lowered it down.

The bottom pic is where he wants to put it. He just want to move a couple of rocks out of the way. It is a steel wall that I think goes into the ground 15 feet. The beach on the top pic is hard to get to with trees in the way. Plus you never know how the waves will be. After he is done for the day he just wants to be able to hoist them out and place them on the trailer.
